Laura Shea is a PhD student in the Computer Science and Engineering department at UC San Diego, where she is advised by Professors Nadia Heninger and Mihir Bellare. She received her ScB in mathematics-computer science from Brown University in 2018, and has formerly worked at Meta and at Gradient Technologies. Her research focus is on provable security and cryptanalysis. She is broadly interested in privacy in practice.
